a WHITE Christmas!

Ok, I know this is like three posts in one! But I thought I'd get caught up in one fell swoop. This time of year is very busy, but fun and exciting. Here are some things we've been doing to celebrate the season, it's our 4th Christmas together since we've been married. Also at the bottom is an invitation to my dance concert this week.

Here is what we've been doing around the house . . .

Our lovely little Christmas Tree that fits perfectly on our little side table.
Presents, our front window lights and our stockings.

Back window lights in our bedroomWhile decorating I told Jared we should get some mistletoe and he wasn't really into the idea but then the next day I came home and he had bought some for me (us)!

Lights around our front door and our little berry wreath. Jared was watching a Lakers game via the internet while I was decorating. He's pretty die-hard to miss out on decorating! :)

My dear friend Brooke Heath got married on Wednesday. I was able to go up to her luncheon in Salt Lake and to her reception. I'm sad I never got a picture of the Bride but here are all my buddies who were Brooke's bridesmaids. Katie, Annie, Athena and Krista.

Friday night we went to a Party at the Hegstrom-Pratt home. This couple have been two of Jared's favorite teachers here at BYU and I believe this is our 4th time going to their Christmas Party. Jared led everyone in singing Spanish Christmas Carols. Joseph at the Party showing us his Karate moves. He is Jared's little buddy.
On Saturday we went to the Savage Family Christmas Party at Riverside. We've been having this Christmas party since I was a baby. It's always been the same Santa Clause too, I swear he is the real Santa. Above are my darling nieces Julia and Audrey.

The real Santa with baby Eliza, her 1st Christmas. Our family photo at the Party.
OK, it's the day you've all been waiting for! Granite Park Middle Schools Winter Dance Concert is this Wednesday December 12th at 7:00pm. You are all invited. Tell me if you want more details. Above are all my lovely girls.
Two of our dance officers, Marissa and Jacey. They are so fun to teach and just keep improving and improving. I'm so sad that Jacey will be moving to Roy after the concert.

Thanksgiving in California!

We had a lot of fun in California for Thanksgiving. The highlight was being able to welcome home Jared's brother Chase from his mission to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The pic above and below are from the Balboa peninsula and island with Jessica, Jared's sister. We put on our car on a ferry to cross over to the island, which was way cool!On Sunday before church we had Jessica take some potential Christmas Card photos. Jared scratched his cornea the day after we got there and has been having issues opening his eye, especially in the sun, i hope you can't really tell, but anyway, he's doing a lot better now, just not wearing his contacts. I think the middle one is best as far as opening eyes goes. . .If you have a favorite, let me know, the last one is just funny because Jared didn't want to open his eyes and Jess told him to give me a kiss but he couldn't find my face.

At the airport waiting for Chase to arrive, we were there at 9:00am, which is when the mission home said he'd arrive, but we waited and waited and he didn't get off that flight, through some phone calls we later learned he wasn't arriving until 4:00pm, the suspense was killing us!

Thanksgiving day, pretty table, yummy food, lovely Jessica!
This was the group of people that were at the White's house for Thanksgiving. Front row: Jared's sis Meri, Grandma Marker, Jared's sis Jessica. Middle row: Aunt Lydia, mom Patti, Uncle Rick, Me. Back row: Uncle Jeff, dad Dave, Jared's bro Chase, cousin Alex, and Jared.

SORRY FOR THE DRY SPELL!

So I haven't posted in a while. I hope you all haven't given up on me! I just haven't had any fun pics to post. So just for fun here are some old pictures i've discovered.

Jared and I on my 20th birthday at the Pizza Factory, he bought me roses that day and the cowboy hat, we had just hooked up about a month before this. Man, i miss that shirt of mine, haha. I had no idea at this point that we'd get married, but i knew i sure could love that boy.
Let's see, I believe this was Summer of 2005. Jared and his dad snorkeling at Catalina Island
The White boys. Jared, Chase and Dave outside the MTC exactly two years ago when Chase entered the mission field. Chase gets home this Wednesday!

Audrey is 3!

We went to Audrey's 3rd birthday party tonight, our sweet little niece. We were excited to use our new camera, it had like "super non-blurriness technology" or something, but why are my pics still blurry? Any tips? Well, enjoy the shots of the party!
Audrey and her dad, my brother Joel, making funny faces
Julia, Audrey, Auntie Em
Jared and my sister's husband Joe, Jared likes this picture because he thinks he looks fat, which we all know Jared is anything but, sorry sweetie.
Auntie Em with baby Eliza, we both have the same middle name, Carolyn. She has the cutest little cheeks, even when she's crying!
Trying to console her by letting her hold the camera case

Trunk or Treating!

Our ward had a trunk-or-treat the day before Halloween and we took our nephews and niece, Warren, Charles and Audrey! It was fun celebrating Halloween with the kids. I would seriously still go trick-or-treating if people would give me candy! p.s. we got a new camera today! no more blurry photos!

A Weekend of Old and True Friends!

On Saturday I had the chance to see some of my oldest and dearest friends.
The Woods family, Stephanie (with the baby) and I went to BYU together, both in the dance program. We also took dance together at a studio in PG. I taught her sisters dance at their studio in their home for a couple years. Their concert was my senior project. This is our FOURTH annual Halloween Party! Below is Steph with her husband Joseph and their sweet baby Benjamin.
Charlotte, me, Josie, Krista, Brooke and Em. We all grew up together in the PV5th ward. Josie flew out from Washington for a baby shower here in Utah. It was great getting together with the gals to reminisce! Josie is such a cute pregnant lady! She's having a girl in January.

I've been Tagged!

I was tagged by lovely Lisa Badal . . . . i now list 6 facts/habits/embarassments about myself

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 1:
I double, triple and quadroople check if things are locked. Like i'll lock my car, walk into work and then walk back to see if its locked. Or i'll lock my office, go to the dance room, and then walk back to my office just to double check. Also the stereo in the dance room (with my ipod in it), i go back like three times during lunch to make sure its secure. I'm crazy like that . . .

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 2: I love shark shows on the discovery channel! I basically love any large preditor show, sharks, polar bears, grizzlies, alligators. . .i'm just fascinated! Shark week every summer is the best!

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 3: When I was in Jr. High I thought i'd play professional soccer, i only did dance just because i'd been doing it since i was a little girl.

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 4: In high school I wanted to be an OBGYN and have 10 children. Then I basically flunked chemistry, and learned that doctors had to take lots of that so I decided to find something else.

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 5: Whenever I talk to someone who I want to impress or who I need to be professional around I replay the conversation over and over in my head, after its over, until I'm sure i didn't say anything stupid.

Fact/Habit/Embarrassment 6: When I was in 3rd grade I fell off a slide on the playground and cracked a few vertebrae, I had to lay down on my back for 6 weeks and the doctors told me I probably wouldn't grow anymore . . well i'm now the tallest girl in my family! Also, side note, during that 6 weeks I watched the movie "Newsies" practically everyday and had dreams that I was this girl newsie.

well, now I will tag Michelle, Josie, Hilary and Betsy! Have fun!

Mrs. White's School Picture or Emily's 18th grade school picture

Picture day was always so traumatic for me growing up, its funny how even us teachers are concerned about how our pictures turn out. I had pink eye that day. . . good thing you can't tell! It was really cool because the photographer had a digital screen and took a couple pictures of me and I got to choose which one I liked best! Wish they would have had that when I was in school, then maybe my 9th grade picture wouldn't have looked like a boy. . .
