Tanaka Farms

This post is much overdue but here are some shots from our local pumpkin patch and petting zoo last month.

I wanted to take some of him sitting in the pumpkins like last year but he just wanted to climb in the tractor, or "big truck!"

Oh I love this kiddo. The other day we were at Costco. He loves the fruit smoothies but obviously I don't want to buy one for him EVERY time but we got through checkout and he just pulled me over there and said "please" so cute and I gave in. Then we sat in the backseat of the car with him on my lap and we shared it and laughed and talked together. It was one of those sweet perfect moments.

On a Fall-ish Day

Although at this moment it's a Balmy 81 degrees we have had a few Fall-ish days in the last month. It get's cooler, especially when the sun goes down and we get a little breeze. You don't see streets full of trees changing color here but you do see a few here and there and they make me happy. These trees will hold onto their beautifully colored leaves through some of the winter months as well. Anyway, on a Fall-ish day last month I thought I'd snap some pictures, M wasn't really in the mood, but we tried. . .

uh, oh, where did he go?

oh, there he is!

time to call it quits . . .Today I also finished up teaching a 6 week Children's Dance class. I had two classes, one of 2.5-3 year olds and one of 4-6 year olds. Boys and Girls. This was my first time teaching kids younger than 5 on a regular basis. They were so sweet, so eager to dance. Sometimes they were just so happy to be dancing that they just laughed out loud and couldn't help but smile. Sometimes they concentrate so hard that the have to stick out their tongues. I love seeing children learn to do things like skip and leap for the first time. Such sweet little souls.

A few from October . . .

I bought these little buckets as props for a children's dance class I am teaching. Max found them one day, then found some chicken nuggets Jared had brought home in the fridge and began dividing them among the buckets.
a nice friend let us take these home from play group to borrow because Max loved them so much.Over General Conference weekend I pulled this train out for Max. I was originally going to save it for Christmas but am glad I didn't because he played with it through most of Conference, allowing us to listen. He has played with it every day since!
Max's "Bob-boos" often come to lunch with him. Sometimes as soon as I tell him it's time for lunch he gathers up his Bob the Builder toys to come along. Then he sings the Bob the Builder song and does this dance where his arms go up and down alternating "Bob-boo, Bob-boo". too funny.Dad the horsey
An afternoon at Corona del Mar. Great weather and hardly anyone else was around!More "choo-choo" before bed time.
A Saturday walk to campus to stop by Daddy's office.
Max was playing in a pot I have on the front porch and his whole arms were filthy. I leaned him over the sink to wash them but he just climbed in. I just went with it, onesie, diaper and all . . .
Mom's shoes.
Friends Evelyn and Gordon. Max loves when Ev takes him down the slide with her. I think she's been taking him down since he was 7 months or so! still have some cute pumpkin patch pics to post . . next time!

Halloween 2010

We had a blast. There was so much to do the whole week and lots of reasons to dress up! Max wore his wolf suit like last year. It fit him even better this year actually! The hood wasn't his favorite but he liked wearing the rest because of the tail. As soon as he realized he had a tail he said "kitty! kitty!" and "meow meow". He thought he was a kitty for the rest of the week but either way he was super cute.
music class at our church with his friend Sarah KateA shopping plaza nearby had a trick or treating party where you went store to store. He had a blast but was a little overwhelmed with all the excitement! He wanted to hold daddy's had most of the time, which was great because I got to do my favorite thing, take pictures!(notice how he holds the tail, he loved that thing!)
On the 30th we decided to go down to San Clemente to Jared's parents Trunk or Treat. Ours started really late (for us) and I was afraid we wouldn't get much out of it because Max would be cranky and tired. Grandma and Grandpa's started earlier so we jumped in on the fun.
Grandpa took him car to car, it was sweet. They also had a big blow up slide that Max was totally fascinated by, I took him down it once. He would've rather done that all night than get candy I think!
The fam, Max is already enjoying some candy. I'm excited for next year already. I really want to do a whole family theme with our costumes! (to make up for my serious lack of costume this year)
On the 31st we just stayed home and passed out candy, well we tried to at least. I put two signs up telling Trick or Treaters to come up to our door, but we got a grand total of three! One was our little neighbor Cubby from downstairs, one was our other neighbor Sylvia who stopped by because I told her mom I really wanted to see her in costume (Little Bo Peep) and then our friend Ruby who was actually not even Trick or Treating but just on a walk with her parents.
