I am very excited and nervous but I know this is the right thing for us. Irvine,CA is in Orange County and we'll be just down the road from the Newport Beach temple as well as Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and of course the beach! So you all need to come visit us! I just want to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts and advice on different places as we made this big decision. In February I posted more about our visit to Irvine if you want to check that out just scroll down.

SPRING BREAK 2008!!

Well, for me anyway. I had Spring Break this past Thursday, Friday and now today Monday. It has been so great to have a break from work. Although now, going back tomorrow, I really have to hit our April concert hard but anyway here are some events from my Spring Break!

Nells Johnson's BBQ/Bon fire. Nells is an old friend of Jared's from past plays that they've performed in together. He was in town this weekend to see this year's play and had a great party . The food is always so great !My friend Sarah and I
Sarah's husband Andy and a shot of the delicious smoked beef and garlic bread cooking on the grill over the fire.

Ok, Friday night at Jared's play was quite an exciting performance. The actors did great, the audience was fun and it was sold out! But also . . . .
The director was proposed to! Sarah Haynie was doing a little Q and A session after the show and the last question was her boyfriend who got up on stage and asked her to marry him! She said yes. It was so fun to watch! I just happend to have my camera! He did get down on one knee but I didn't get a photo of that.
After the show Jared and his buddies did an encore rendition of their air guitar/lip sync to "Come Sail Away" by Styx. I say encore because they did this last year too. from the left: Nells on the drums, Joseph the dancer, Jared lead vocals, Dan doing the robot also on Keyboard, Andy on bass guitar (?).
Jared pulling a Hendrix on the floor with his guitar.Joseph and I were quite bored waiting for everyone to change and close up shop after the show so we took some pictures. Joseph's parents are the faculty advisors over the show.

EASTER! Yesterday we spent Easter dinner at my parents. Annie, Mom, me and Grandma.
Jared's younger siblings came too, Meri and Chase.and my darling Dance Co. last week at our Saturday rehearsal.

Recent Happenings and Thoughts. . .

Last Sunday we celebrated our nephew Warren's 8th birthday and our niece Julia's 6th birthday. I just love them so much and am going to miss them terribly when we move. It is so fun seeing them grow up. Being an aunt is great !Beautiful cupcakes made by Becky, probably with help from her kids.
Grandma Wright with the kiddos
Jared, my two sisters Anne and Becky, baby Eliza and Dad
Annie, Julia and I all had on black leggings, totally by accident. Aren't we adorable?
The other day, hmm I think it was Tuesday, I came home to beautiful Spring flowers from my husband for no reason at all! How sweet is that? I kind of feel sad while I'm writing this because Jared is actually gone for the weekend to BYU Idaho with the Play (see post below). I miss him! It's only one night and we spent a month apart in the summer of July 2006 but it's still no fun.

I'm actually going to Saturday School tomorrow at work. It's really for students who need to make up grades but since the school will be open my dancers and I are going to take advantage of that and use the 5 hours to learn the opening dance for our show on April 30th. So I'm sitting here listening to Rob Thomas "Little Wonders" and going over my choreography. The theme for our show is "the power of words". The choreographers had to think of one word that their dance would be based around. For example, Love, Forgiveness, Strength, Regret, Red, Trust, to name a few that my students have chosen. So this dance I'm teaching tomorrow is based around the word "Miracles". I've seen miracles come in my life in the smallest ways and at the most frustrating moments and sometimes it takes hours and hours of hard work to create the most meaningful experiences in life. Then there are other blessings that come in the things that just happen without planning or work or anticipation. . . .anyway, this is what my dance is about. Whether my 12,13, 14 and 15 year old dancers will understand this, i don't know but there is no better way to express it for me than through dance! Here are a couple random Granite Park Dance Pics . . .

Jared's Play - You're Invited!

Jared is in his 4th year of performing with BYU Golden Age Theater. This year the play is entitled, "El Retrato Vivo". Here is a list of the dates/times/places if you'd like to come! Jared really is a great actor and has had a blast with these plays. It is in Spanish but they always do a scene by scene break down in English in the program.

This is Jared just a couple weeks ago when they performed at Timpview High School.
