Max's Pirate Birthday

Max's birthday was on a Sunday this year.  He woke up to find one of his presents wrapped in his room.  I thought for sure he would have opened it right when he woke up but he waited until I came in, then jumped out of bed and tore it open.  It was this "Casey Jr." train.  We had some time to play before church.

He loved coming downstairs in the morning to find his cake and decorations up.

After church he was ready for the party to start but I told him "after naps", and he was such a good little birthday boy and took a good nap!  When the guests still hadn't arrived when he woke up he was getting a little restless, but he sat right up at the table and admired his cake some more.  He was so good about not sneaking any licks of frosting!

We broke out our "arts and crafts" for the party, pirate hooks made with red plastic cups and tin foil.  We added the foam stickers for decoration.

Our first guests to arrive were Auntie Jessica and Auntie Meridith.

Grandma and Grandpa came later, (i don't have a photo of them together, but I do have them in a video!)  They even dressed up like pirates!  We had dinner and then opened gifts.

Max loved all his presents, especially this Bat Cave!  Daddy had had his eye on this one for awhile!

Max got to play with his toys while I put Sean down for bed. . .then it was cake time!  We skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Wright and Auntie Annie so they got to sing along too!

This video just kills me, he was one happy 3 year old.

He sure was ready to dive in to that cake!
