Buses go by the window every 20 minutes

There is a fire station down the street and the fire truck goes by usually at least once a day. They also daily park their truck directly outside Max's window while they work out at the gym across the street. Sometimes we see them dash out of the gym, gear up, and dash away with the sirens.

The John Wayne airport is just a few miles away and we see and hear planes whenever we're outside.

They tore down a big chunk of our apartment complex last fall and are now rebuilding new apartments. All we have to do is take a walk and we're at a full-blown construction site with every "big truck" you could imagine. I can hear the Beep, Beep, Beep of them backing up as we speak. Max always says "dump dump, beep beep beep" as we pass.

They are also redoing some paneling on the outside of our quad right now and there is lots of hammering and drilling all day long. This is where "the guys" comes in. Max calls all construction workers "the guys". We pass them every time we go to the car lately and watch them while we play at the playground. When we're getting ready to leave Max tells me we're going to see "the guys". We parked by Lowes today and there was a large picture of a man with a hard hat on the side of the building, Max pointed, "guys!"
(they're not always this friendly looking)
Obviously, this all makes a lot of noise. But we're used to it, we sleep through it. For the most part it's between 8am and 5pm and then Saturday and Sunday seem really quiet without the bus route going!

Sounds fun. I actually think that the picture of the guy might be an architect visiting the site. Just saying
My boys would be in heaven too! Whenever they hear the garbage truck they run to the window and toss the blinds aside. Your family is looking so cute!
yup...his Dad loved playing in the dirt when he was little too!!! I remember when we lived in a brand new home in SIMI and had a pile of sand delivered to put as a base for our new patio...the whole neighborhood used that pile of sand for their sandbox for a few days until we could move it into the backyard...so fun!
Brian would be in heaven!
